WARNING TO WORDPRESS COMMUNITY:

no-colorlabs

Please do NOT buy any themes from Colorlabs Project. It has recently come to our attention that they have not been providing their promised support to customers as well as not having paid out affiliate commissions for the last couple of months.

We have removed their themes from WPBest and suggest anyone else promoting their themes to stop as well.

If someone from Colorlabs Project would like to comment on this please feel free to use the form below.

**** Update 9/13/09 ****
It looks like Colorlabs Project has since made good on their owed affiliate payments. I am not sure about adding their themes back to WPBest just yet though. I will wait to make sure all of their business/management issues have been ironed out before sending them business.

    Tell us about it. They currently owe us almost $600.00 in commissions….

    All emails sent have gone unanswered for the past two months or so.

    Thanks for the heads! Has anyone tried contacting him? His last post on his personal blog ( michaelhutagalung.com ) was in July. I wonder if something happened to him.

    I have tried emailing both sites numerous times and have not received a response. Others have said the same.

    Unfortunate set of circumstances. I purchased Arthemeia Pro back in March but because of complexities, I ended up using a different theme. Thanks for the heads up.

    Dear All,

    Thanks a lot for putting this into concern. We are at the moment trying to sort out this problem. Also, there is a big change in management of the company, both technical and organisational. That transition somehow has caused some delays and difficulties for the business to go smoothly.

    About unanswered emails, we have just moved our server and it took quite some time. Unfortunately, it caused some emails sent to our domain went back and forth from one server to another and many of them even lost due to the DNS propagation.

    As for July and August affiliate commission, we deeply apologize that our automated payment system did not work as it should be (again, due to the technical problems). Therefore manual payments will be sent before 15th of this month (September). We really apologize for this inconvenience.

    Above all, we realize that it’s also our responsibility to overcome any possible problems. Therefore we thank you for Admin for putting this online and we hope we can be better in the future.

    Regards,
    Michael

    I’m not sure how I feel about this response. I really don’t believe that you didn’t notice that none of your affiliate payments went out for two months. Not getting any of the emails is hard to believe too. I myself have tried to contact you through Colorlabs Project site, your PayPal address as well as your personal blog with no response.

    Technical issues is one thing but if you run a business and value those who buy your products and those who help sell your products you should communicate these changes/issues to them. I hate that I needed to write a Colorlabs Project bashing post here to finally get a response.

    I will keep this post as is until I hear that everyone is getting the support and commissions that they were promised from Colorlabs Project.

  11. Eric Says:

    Sorry Michael Hutagalung but none of your excuses fit whats going on here. You didnt know for 2 months that payments wasn’t getting sent out? so you have not got any emails in 2 months? I can see missing a few emails but all emails for 2 months across all your sites. im sorry i just dont fall for your excuse. Anyone that knew they was moving server would have let everyone know of a temp email that they would be able to contact you.

  12. Premium Themes Says:

    Okay, we just received the July 2009 and August 2009 affiliate payments.

    Thanks to the admin for posting this and to Michael for fixing the issue. Please don’t let it happen again! 8)

    I have 3 blogs with 3 different premium themes.
    Arthemia is still really a pretty good one.
    Hope Michael Hutagalung makes it alright now with the affiliation and his server and business organisation.
    I have much respect for his work.

    @admin:
    I would like to point out that it’s been only ONE month (ONE payment) the system was not working. Payment for August is due this 15th of September and it’s not due yet as we’re speaking. So, it’s not like it’s been months we did not realise this happening. But anyway, we should really thank you a lot for the post because we don’t realise that automated affiliate payments were not working properly before reading this post. That’s hard to believe but that’s what happened. Our system is fully automated. When we relies to much on it, we won’t easily or immediately realise that something is not working properly, especially when things was working well before for months.

    It seems that you are one of our affiliate as well. Above all, we deeply thank you for this. It might look a bit bashing but we’re cool. At least we were informed and that’s the point.

    @Premium Themes:
    You’re welcome. :)

    I purchased the premium theme for use with my solarthermalmagazine.com site but during conversion the theme admin locked up so that it was impossible to edit the theme settings. It seemed to happen right after I put the google adsense code in. I could not get it to work so I moved a fresh copy of the theme over to a less trafficed site and guess what it happened again? Now what. I love this theme but I need it to work.

    I’m relatively new to WordPress, but purchased a beautiful theme called Entreprenium recently to use for a client. I ran into all sorts of issues – some likely my own ignorance but some are definitely in the programming itself. For a while, I was getting some ongoing discussion and help in the form of someone going into my version of the theme and doing “things” some of which I figured out and some not. But in the end, now, there are still unresolved deal breakers where the theme is not working as demo’d. The client is ready to go live and I’m not hearing anything back for weeks. So we are stuck. I can’t really recommend these guys and it’s too bad because the design seemed great.
