We wanted a magazine style layout that wouldn't look like "just another WordPress blog" but which we could handle all the upkeep for ourselves. It's been quite successful, easy to work with, and updated well to WP3.0. We're looking now for a forum plug-in for it; the popular BuddyPress doesn't seem to play well with Allure.
